Tabbus's 21st Birthday Presents!

This is a relatively new thing to me, but going to Uni in the city and also having (a very very limited) experience of welfare ministry amongst the homeless, this is an issue that I’m reminded of constantly.

I’m more aware that to live where we live, and go to school where we go, to enjoy the job prospects we enjoy, and even to have the parents we have really dictate how much security, dignity and hope we have in our lifestyle.

And all these factors are often things we don’t even control- they’re factors in our lives which has been given by God. I think I’m becoming more aware that because of our wealth we now have a huge responsibility to give this wealth away to those whose circumstances aren’t so stable.

I’ve been slowly looking for an opportunity to do that and I thought this was a good start :) If you’re willing, it would be great if you could join me!

I chose Wesley Mission because I have seen the work they do amongst the marginalised in Surry Hills, at a lodging center near my church called Edward Eagar Lodge. Not only do they provide temporary lodging and the security and dignity that brings, but their support is also about sharing hope through Christ - the true wealth that will last forever.

I think HOPE is the most important thing and there can
only be sure, solid hope in a knowledge of Jesus.  

Because of the testimony and faithfulness of their work in Surry Hills I want to commit any money you donate on my behalf to the general work of Wesley Mission amongst the homeless which extends to Sydney and beyond.
